Argyll & Bute covers a wide and dramatic area of the west of Scotland embracing a vast coastal scenery, high peaks and some lovely islands. Many tourists to Scotland miss out on Argyll & Bute because they head for some of the better known destinations such as Fort William, Inverness and Aviemore.
Whilst this is a shame for them, for the informed traveller it means that you can escape the summer crowds and enjoy some of the best kept secrets in Scotland.
Visit Oban, Inveraray, Lochgilphead, The Crinan Canal and Kilmartin Glen. If you are able to visit Argyll & Bute outside the summer peak period you will feel as if you have the whole place to yourself.
Once you visit Argyll & Bute you will find yourself making plans to come back again.
