Diving in Loch Fyne
Loch Fyne is both the longest (41 miles) and the deepest (180m) of the Scottish sea lochs. Whilst many areas of the loch are beyond the reach of scuba divers, the loch has become very popular with divers because of the availability of some very good dive sites.
There is a wonderful dive at Furnace Quarry just a two minute walk from Burnside Cottage
At Kenmore & Pennymore (reached by a track from the cottage) there is an area of special marine interest. The cliffs here provide some of the best diving in the UK and they support some very diverse marine life.
There is also a very good dive site at Minard a few miles south of Furnace.
Further detailed information on diving in Loch Fyne can be obtained from the many diving web sites or from a brief search in Google.
If you are a diver and have any information on dives in Loch Fyne or dives in other parts of Argyll & Bute e.g. Loch Long, please E-mail us and we will include your information on site.
