Midges Beware of the Highland Midge from May onwards at all locations. Midges can spoil your day in a matter of minutes. They are particularly bad in calm conditions in the early morning or late evening. If you are by the bankside fishing or out on a boat you can get badly bitten.
Make sure you invest in a midge net (placed over your head in a similar fashion to a bee keeper.). Midges can swarm and bite you so incessantly that you literally need to leave if you cannot cover up bare skin.
For further information on midges visit our Midges Page.
